Why complain!

Why complain about your children,
when you don't fulfill your roles
teaching morals, values and self respect
for themselves and so for others.
Lead by example is too much a sacrifice
for you to portray
that you quietly mention do's and don'ts
and hope that they do not stray
I say to you it's not enough
it's time to take responsibility
for the lives you bring into this world
not just by giving financially
The problems faced in this world
is as a result of your actions
the things you do and what you fail to
is definitely a fraction.

Why complain about crime and poverty
in the country that you live
about lack of growth and lack of order
and other affairs in which they give
you knew before, cuz they made it clear
to them what was most important
you had the power, to change the conditions
but by stubborn-ness, we have to endure.

Why complain when you have no shame
to do the things you do
to walk the streets and expose yourself
revealing to all a despicable view.

Why complain when you become ill
after acting promiscuous
Drinking, smoking, taking drugs
not to mention the acts accompanied by lust.

Why complain when you mistreat others
by abuse, wickedness and spite
when tomorrow comes, and the table turns
and suddenly nothing seems right.

Why complain when you do not listen,
to the cries of your loved ones,
of concerns and warnings of miseries,
foreseen as the result of your actions.

Trinidad and Tobago stop complaining
about things that don't seem right
play your part, and say your prayers
and be thankful for day and night.
